Birmingham, AL-- The Florida State faithful have reason to be happy again in terms of football recruiting. Five star quarterback recruit Jameis Winston, out of Hueytwon Alabama, signed his letter of intent Friday with FSU.
Winston's been a strong verbal commitment since August, but did not sign on National Signing Day Wednesday because he was out of town, and wanted to wait until Friday to sign in front of family, friends and classmates.
Winston's a 6-4, 200 pounder who threw for over 24 hundred yards and ran for another thousand this season.
The big catch for FSU fans here, Winston's a top baseball prospect, and could be a first round draft pick. He would not say if he would still go to Florida State if chosen in the first round of the baseball draft. That brings up memories of Joe Mauer, another FSU qb. recruit who chose baseball and is now a multi-millionaire with the Twins.
