Panama City, FL--You might just say it's back to the drawing board for Bay as it searches for it's next head ball coach. Late last week Bay principal Billy May, with help from his search committee settled on Dale Brewer, an assistant at Pensacola High, offered him the job and it was accepted. Then over the weekend, Brewer called May back and said he'd reconsidered, and backed out. So now May is trying to figure out how to proceed in filling the position May vacated when he decided not to renew Frank Sorrells contract.
"Of course I've talked to my administrative team at the school and I've recently sent out an email to my search committee asking for their input. The way that I see it we can go to number two or three on the list. We can re-advertise or we could even look to have an interim coach for a year but that's a last resort, that's not quite what I'm after. Like I say I'm not into patching a program, I'm into building a program and I think we need to get somebody in here."
May did not set an exact timetable on when to make a decision on how to proceed, or when they had hoped to have a new head coach in place.
