Meagan joined Newschannel 7 in October 2009 from the ABC affiliate in Tallahassee. There, while still in college, she worked for nearly two years first as an intern, than an editor, and eventually a fill-in reporter. She is no stranger to the news business and has navigated across several mediums including print,internet, and tv.
A Tallahassee native, Meagan went to Lincoln High School where she served as Senior Class President and Captain of the varsity volleyball team. Meagan was also "Jr. Miss Tallahassee 2004" and was named "Trojan of the Year" her senior year for her athletic achievements on both the volleyball and track teams.
Meagan received an athletic scholarship and went on to play volleyball her first two years of college in Tampa, FL while also working for the St. Petersburg Times.
Returning to Tallahassee in 2007, Meagan enrolled at Florida State University where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Mass Communications with a minor in English and special emphasis in Spanish.
During her senior year of college, Meagan worked at the state Capitol as a consultant for a local lobbyist firm. She also dabbled in sports as a sideline reporter and nationwide correspondent for the FOX news owned website Palestra.net (currently UWIRE.com). Sports Illustrated picked up her feature story where she asked how well fans remembered the name of Chief Osceola's horse “Renegade”.
When she isn't chasing down a story, Meagan enjoys spending time with her huge family (she's one of six kids!), playing beach volleyball, and running around with her sweet yellow lab Millie.
