Ron started at WJHG in May 2014. He anchors the noon and 5 p.m. newscasts.
Ron was born in Anaheim, Ca. and raised in Orange County. Prior to WJHG, he served as the weekend anchor and weekday reporter at the ABC affiliate in Des Moines, IA where he won an IBNA award for his work (Iowa Broadcast News Association.) Previously, he served as the main anchor at KLEW, the CBS affiliate in Lewiston, ID. Ron also worked for both the Orange County Register and the Honolulu Advertiser newspapers. In addition, he spent time anchoring and reporting for Comcast Cable in Southern California.
Ron graduated summa cum laude from California State University, Fullerton with a degree in broadcast journalism. He currently attends Iowa State University (online) where he’ll receive his Master of Science degree in journalism and mass communication this fall. He also taught the newscasting class at Iowa State as a graduate teaching assistant.
Ron has one son, Adam.
When he's not working, Ron loves exercising, reading, politics, horse racing and watching his beloved Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on the Internet.
