Alexandra is the definition of a Florida girl. Born on the west coast in Port Charlotte, Florida, she has also lived in the central, southeast, and north central parts of the state and is now proud to call sunny Panama City Beach her new home.
She joined the NewsChannel 7 team as the Weekend Weather Anchor/Reporter, a job that lets her entertain two of her journalistic interests and certainly never leaves her bored.
Alexandra is a proud Gator hailing from the University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications where she graduated summa cum laude in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunication News and a minor in Theater.
She has won several awards for reporting, including just recently placing fourth in the nation in the Hearst Broadcast Competition in San Francisco. She has also been recognized by the Florida Associated Press, the Society of Professional Journalists, and the University of Florida's College of Journalism Faculty for Special Achievement.
During her time at UF, she was the Chief Weather Forecaster for WUFT-TV, while also reporting, producing, and anchoring for CBS radio affiliate WRUF AM850. Before joining WJHG, she worked as a reporter for the ABC affiliate, WCJB-TV, in Gainesville, Florida.
Alexandra loves getting to know members of the local community; so if you have a weather question or an interesting story idea, feel free to email her at alexandra.hill@wjhg.com.
