Jim Loznicka is the Morning and Noon Meteorologist for News Channel 7. He joins us from NBC 15 in Mobile, AL, where he served as Chief Meteorologist. He is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist from the American Meteorological Society, just like our Chief Meteorologist Chris Smith!
Jim grew up on Florida's east coast, in Jacksonville, and is THRILLED to call Florida his home once again! He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Television News from the University of Florida, and a Master of Science in Geosciences/Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.
Jim has 15 years of forecasting experience, and has covered EVERY major hurricane to affect northwest Florida this past decade, from Ivan to Dennis to Katrina! In fact, some of his forecasts for Hurricane Katrina were spotlighted in a special National Geographic documentary on the hurricane's devastation. He has also reported on hurricanes live in the field for CNN, FOX News, NBC Weather Plus, and NBC News
