Tornado Watch

A winter cold front is on the move across the southern U.S. today, and it's bringing the threat of severe weather with it. A *Tornado Watch* is now in effect until 5pm CST, which means there is the potential for a few of these storms to briefly produce tornadoes.

After careful analysis of the data, it looks like our primary weather threat is going to be very gusty wind and locally heavy rain. Winds in the storms will average 30 to 40 mph and rain totals could approach 1.5" in a few areas.

Make sure to stay with News Channel 7 and the VIPIR Weather Team as we utilized LIVE Doppler Radar and our 5 minute early warning advantage on any potential tornadic thunderstorms today.
