Bay County’s 100th Birthday Celebration
4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
McKenzie Park in downtown Panama City
“One hundred years ago to the day, our ancestors celebrated the incorporation of Bay County with a picnic at McKenzie Park,” Terri Pierce, Centennial Committee chairwoman said. “We intend to honor them by re-creating that celebration.”
The event will feature free barbecue plates, hamburgers and hotdogs sponsored by J.R.’s Rib Shack and cupcakes donated by Sugar Boogers, along with bluegrass music performed by Deep South Bluegrass Band, speeches by local dignitaries and tours of the historic Sapp and McKenzie houses.
Attendees should bring blankets or chairs, and while the food is free, donations are appreciated.
