World Alzheimer’s Month
Home Instead Senior Care
September is World Alzheimer’s Month, a great time to be aware of new, free tools and materials designed to help them care for loved ones who are living with the disease.
A free workshop for family members where they will receive training to help them deal with the challenging behaviors that often result from the Alzheimer’s and other dementias. The Alzheimer’s CARE: Changing Aging Through Research and Education workshop will be offered on:
Sept. 17 from 4 – 6 p.m. at Home Instead Senior Care, 200 Forest Park Circle, Panama City
A free Confidence to Care at Home kit, an at-a-glance collection of information, tips and resources to help handle difficult situations, avoid household accidents, encourage engagement and prevent caregiver stress that is designed for any member of the household to reference anytime they need it.
The Alzheimer’s and Other Dementias Daily Helper smartphone app that helps families find solutions when they have to react quickly to a difficult situation. Available September 16, this free app is designed to help families manage issues as they arise, whether at home or in public.
Because an estimated 70 percent of people with Alzheimer’s live at home, I think your viewers will be interested in learning more about these and other free resources from the Home Instead Senior Care office serving the Greater Panama City area.
