Tropical Weather Heads for Florida
The Hurricane Center is keeping a close eye on a developing area of low pressure near the Yucatan Channel This will be primarily a "wind" event for our stretch of the Florida panhandle. Most of the heavy rain and eventful weather stays along the west and southern coast of the state

Clouds trying to organize into a tropical low

A broad low in the southern Gulf of Mexico still shows some signs of organization. However, with a cold front rapidly approaching from the west, the window of development is very narrow and very iffy.
Right now, this low will bring substantial wind and rain along the west and southern coasts of Florida, with it all transitioning to the east coast as the low moves away. We are looking for only *minimal* impacts here in the panhandle with this system.
I expect a very gusty wind to develop by Monday night and last through Wednesday. That wind will kick up the surf and the sea quite a bit, but since the low is heading east and staying east, we miss out on meaningful rain this time around.
At this point, I *DO NOT* anticipate any weather watches or warnings in our area as this storm system approaches.
