Venus Transit Information
Between 5pm and 7pm today, the planet Venus will travel across the face of the Sun. As you view the Sun, it will appear as a tiny black dot in the northeast quadrant which basically moves to the eastern quadrant during the transit.
I found a handy Google-based link that provides viewing times and a mock-up of the Sun during the Venus transit. You can linked to it below.
Keep it handy as the event gets closer later today.
If you plan on attempting to "view" the transit, do not stare at the direct sunlight, rather use a "pinhole projector" to do so. It is easy to build, as it involves two sheets of paper! It makes for a fun afternoon project for you and the kids. Click on the link below to see how to build your own pinhole projector.
Happy viewing, and let's hope the weather holds off.
