MARIANNA. Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Chipola College recently received national recognition as one of the nation's top public schools in the South.
The U.S. News and World Report's Best College Rankings gave the school the #10 spot on its list. The school was also featured as #52 on the list of best regional colleges in the South. The report is based on qualities including student retention rates and student-teacher ratio.
"[It] certainly helps continue to put us on the map. We've had several national rankings over the last few years and any time you have the opportunity to get your name out there that further promotes the college and that's a good thing," said Dr. Jason Hurst, President of Chipola College.
This is the first time the school has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report's Best College Rankings.
