BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Delta is allowing customers to change their plans if their flights are impacted by Hurricane Irma.
According to their website, if you want to cancel your trip as a result of a flight cancellation or significant delay (90 minutes or more), you can get a refund for the unused portion of your ticket. Even if your flight is not canceled, you may make a one-time change to your ticket without fee if you are scheduled to travel to, from, or through Punta Cana, DO, San Juan, PR, Santiago, DO, St. Croix, VI, St. Maarten, Sx, St. Thomas, VI or Turk Caicos ISLS, TC, from September 5th through the 9th. The ticket must be reissued by and rebooked travel must begin no later than September 12th.
If you are flying to, from, or through Daytona Beach, FL, Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood, FL, Fort Myers, FL, Fort Walton Beach, FL, Freeport, BS, Gainesville, FL, Georgetown, BS, Havana, CU, Jacksonville, FL, Key West, FL, Melbourne, FL, Maimi, FL, Nassau, BS, Orlando, FL, Panama City, FL, Pensacola, FL, Sarasota/Bradenton, FL, Tallahassee, FL, Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater, FL, or West Palm Beach, FL, between September 6th and September 17th, your ticket must be reissued by and rebooked travel must be no later than September 30th.
Delta says if your rescheduled travel happens after September 12th, the change fee will be waived. However, a difference fare may apply.
If travel is not able to be rescheduled within guidelines, customers may cancel their reservations and apply any unused value of the ticket toward a new ticket in the next year.
