PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The loss of a family member can be felt by everyone, especially the loss of a child, but one duo is teaching that those who are lost are never truly forgotten.
Angels Across the USA are a traveling grief counseling group.
Organizers Mitch Carmody and Alan Pederson are national grief educators speaking at various groups across the country using presentations and music to help those in need.
The two spoke at Forest Park United Methodist Church in Panama City Thursday evening to show that those going through grief are not alone.
Alan Pederson said, "We just try to bring a message of hope for people who feel that their lives can never be good again. So, my daughter Ashley died in August of 2015, this organization that I'm here for tonight, the Compassionate Friends helped me and I just try to give something back by offering hope."
The duo is traveling across the country in a van with butterfly decals, representing those who are no longer with us.
"I wanted to be able to go and play and speak where the need was, not where the finances were so people have asked, 'How can I help you?' so they sponsor a butterfly decal that has the name and hometown of their child, their grandchild, their sibling," Pederson continued.
The two are traveling down to Tampa to speak at other groups on Saturday.
