PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Bay County Health Department is pumping out different ways to keep your heart healthy.
The 18th annual World Heart Day celebration takes place Friday, September 29th.

Many factors of heart health are a result of lifestyle choices, such as what you eat or how often you exercise. The Department of Health urges residents to keep their heart pumping.
Heather Kretzer, the Public Information Office for the Florida Department of Health in Bay County says for those trying to improve their heart health they should, "Make yourself one challenge, whether it's to start walking every day with your family, to start eating healthier, even if it's just one meal a week. Taking small steps towards your health."
The Department of Health also says that everyone should get annual blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar checks to keep your heart and body healthy.
