Bay District Schools temporarily alters dress code for cold

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Bay District Schools students can chill out over deciding what cold weather clothes fall in line with the dress code.

The school district says it's being flexible with its clothing rules this week due to the cold snap.

In a statement, Superintendent Bill Husfelt said, "Student safety is always our number one priority and we know that this temporary cold snap is certainly colder than many of our students are used to, or can prepare for. For this week only, until Friday, we are encouraging students to dress as warmly as they can regardless of whether or not their outerwear matches school colors."

All Bay District Schools are included in this update.
