CRESTVIEW, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - UPDATE: Monday at 10 a.m.
Crestview Police have identified the man who was found over the weekend in a wooded area near I-10.
According to Public Information Officer Brian Hughes, the body was found near the westbound exit at State Road 85 and has been identified as George Fanning.
A man reportedly called 911 Sunday after his dog led him to a tent in the woods where he saw the dead body.
Hughes says this area is a popular camping site for transients.
He says death isn't considered suspicious, but the cause of death is still unknown until autopsy is completed.
According to the Crestview Police Department, police investigated the scene of an unattended death Sunday afternoon.
Investigators reportedly combed the scene of a campsite in the woods near the westbound Interstate 10 exit and State Road 85.
Police said there were no traffic blockages or delays while investigators were at the scene.
The incident is still under investigation.
