Hundreds of kids from toddlers to pre-teens were able to collect Easter eggs, play in bounce houses and take pictures with the Easter bunny.

Event organizers say it's their way of teaching kids the story behind the holiday.

"The goal of our church is to reach out to the community to share the gospel and this is a great way to get kids to come because they want to come and they want to hunt eggs, but they're also going to get to see that we love them just like Jesus did and so we're able to tell them the whole story and so they understand why we're celebrating," Director of Children's Ministries Mary McQuagge said.

The event also offered face-painting and sweets. Organizers say more families showed up this year, than ever before.
