BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - One little boy gave a big donation to the Bay County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) recently.
Eight-year-old Parker Walsingham raised a $2011.15 for Project 25, which is an annual fundraiser to collect toys for needy children in the community.
About $750 came from his fellow students and staff at Deer Point Elementary.
Walsingham said the primary reason he raised the money was to make sure every kid gets to open presents on Christmas.
"It was fun getting checks and all that from everybody," he said.
"Bay County is awesome. It's people like Parker, and the kids, that help. It's the community that helps," Johns said. "We couldn't do it without the community. I want to thank everyone so much to help us meet our goal. We have angels in Bay County."
According to Johns, said Parker's generosity will provide toys for about 25 kids.
You can support the cause by shopping at the Callaway Wal-Mart Tuesday at 6 p.m.
The goal is to shop for 600 children in Bay County.
"We're going to meet that goal and hopefully we'll be able to do more," Johns said.
