Manhunt underway for wanted felon

WATERCOLOR, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Walton County Sheriff's Office is searching in Watercolor for a man wanted in Bay County.

Deputies are in the area searching for 38-year-old Jason Ellis, who is wanted on felony charges.

They said when they attempted to stop Ellis at Grayton Beach State Park, Ellis hit a Walton County Deputy patrol car and left the area.

Investigators said he ditched his vehicle on the west end of Watercolor.

"We've got a helicopter in the air and we've got Walton County CI's dogs on scene and deputies BOLOing the area. He's got a beard, blue eyes, he's wearing a hat and he was last seen wearing blacked rimmed glasses, pink shorts, and a gray shirt." WCSO Pubilc Information Officer, Corey Dobridnia said.

Seaside Neighborhood School was put on lockdown.

Deputies said Ellis could be on foot or on a bicycle.
