Minor in custody after threatening social media post against Marianna High School

MARIANNA, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Jackson County School Board says a minor is in custody after a threatening social media post.

Marianna High School Administration, along with the Marianna Police Department, have determined a threatening social media post telling students not to go to school Monday is a hoax and is no longer considered a valid threat.

School officials and police say they have identified a suspect and arrested the individual. They say charges are pending.

Marianna High School and all Jackson County Public Schools remain open.
