Panama City Beach tourism numbers on the rise

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Visit Panama City Beach and the Bay County Tourist Development Council announced that collections made in January 2018 were up 3.2 percent from last year.

"Panama City Beach is built on fun, and the month of January is no exception," states Visit Panama City Beach President and CEO Dan Rowe. "Each year more and more travelers decide to ditch the winter blues and flock to Panama City Beach for our warmer weather, sunshine and our fun calendar of events."

PCB saw thousands of winter residents visit the beach for a January retreat, many of whom continue to return.

Officials say Panama City Beach's new season of events and values such as Winter Resident Appreciation Days, mystery golf challenges, the Homecoming Dance and Social and Senior Prom drew thousands of visitors from across the country to Panama City Beach.
