PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - For one local non-profit organization, the spirit of giving stretches all year, not just over the holidays, but on Friday, they got a little help from Saint Nick himself.
The Panama City Rescue Mission had some extra gifts under the tree and enlisted the help of Santa to hand them out to the kids that made the nice list this year.
Kids got the chance to talk to the big man in person and even take selfies with him.
The event was held at the Encore Boutique and More in Panama City and is the Mission's way of saying thank you to the community.
Lisa Nixon-Mabry, the Communications Director for the Rescue Mission, said, "The community gives so much to the Rescue Mission every day of the year, and we just wanted a feel-good thing to be able to give back to the community. So we have Santa visiting us today here at our boutique, Encore Boutique and More."
If you still need to do some last-minute shopping, the boutique has great gift ideas for the whole family, from clothes for dad to toys for kids.
