Stranded dolphin makes progress in recovery

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Gulf World Marine Institute has a happy update on the Bottlenose Dolphin found in Okaloosa Island. She is getting better!

The dolphin stranded herself back on October 8th and Gulf World Marine Institute has been taking care of her ever since. Blood tests are coming back healthy and she is starting to eat on her own.

The dolphin has been named Samira, meaning she who is of pleasant company.

Gulf World will continue to monitor Samira's progress and do another round of blood tests in a few weeks.
