Tourism leaders aim to bring "American Pickers" to northwest Florida

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The team from the popular History Channel show "American Pickers" will be shooting in Florida in just a few weeks and your antiques could be the star of an upcoming episode.

"We've teamed up with Jackson and Holmes counties and T&B Hidden Treasures here in Chipley to try and get some locations put together so we can attract them to this area," Washington County Tourist Development Council Director Heather Lopez said.

Tourism officials need your help to make that happen.

"It's a great opportunity for us to showcase some of our local people and some of the antiques that we have in our area," Lopez said.

Officials and local antique enthusiasts have already found a few antiques they'll submit, but they need more.

"We're looking for cars and we're looking for antique glass, anything else that may be of interest to them," Billy Tinsley, owner of T&B Hidden Treasures Antique Mall in Chipley said. "Signs in particular, and drink boxes, motorcycles, anything we can find."
