SPRINGFIELD, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The man said to be involved in Thursday's officer-involved shooting is now facing several charges according to Bay County court records.
Terrance Britton, 31, allegedly pointed a pistol at officers after they say he sped away from a traffic stop early Thursday morning in Springfield.
After crashing his vehicle in Parker and walking away, Springfield Police officers say they ordered Britton to stop. After refusing, they say he then pointed a pistol at officers and officers responded by shooting at Britton, hitting him in the leg.
Britton is now being charged with grand theft auto, aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon and attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, among other charges.
