United Way makes big donation to military and veterans' education

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - United Way of Northwest Florida donated a big gift to help further some military and veteran students' education.

United Way officials presented a $50,000 check to Gulf Coast State College Foundation's "Thanks a Million" campaign.

The money will go toward military and veteran students.

United Way officials announced the donation at Gulf Coast State College's District Board of Trustees meeting Thursday morning.

"These funds will be used to help fill those gaps, whether it's tuition-related or books and supplies or student activity fees, whatever they might need these funds will be eligible for," explained Bryan Taylor, president of the United Way of Northwest Florida

United Way officials told us they anticipate being able to help more than 25 military and veteran students with their donation.
