LYNN HAVEN, Fla (WJHG/WECP) - Other area schools like Altha, Bozeman, Holmes, St. Joe, Niceville and Mosley are representing one or more.
Niceville has seven competing in Saturday's 2A meet.
Mosley has five set to compete Friday, alongside the other 1-A lifters.
They're head coach Shade Holder believes another two would have made it, but one missed making weight, the other had the flu.
Like the Arnold lifters, these Mosley girls, and the others from our area will have the advantage of perhaps having a little bigger cheering section, seeing they don't have to travel far to take part.
"Yes," Faith Mount, Mosley senior said. "It's definitely way less nerve wracking than it would be traveling two or three hours away, but yet again I'm just ready to go."
"We most definitely feel more at home because Arnold has a really nice gym, and it's like the nerves and the jitters just go down from there because it just feels like we're at home," Kena Phillips, Mosley senior said.
Holder says there's a downside, the girls don't get the experience of traveling and staying in a hotel, which is a nice aspect of competing at a state event.
The girls state championship gets under way at Arnold at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
