Gulf Coast's hosting rival Chipola in their second meeting

PANAMA CITY, Fla (WJHG/WECP) - There's a second meeting between two Panhandle Conference rivals Wednesday night.

Chipola and Gulf Coast play at the Harrison Field House Wednesday night on the latter's campus.

For the men, this will be the second meeting between the Indians and Commodores, the first coming back on January 20, Chipola protecting the home floor, winning that game 81-69.

As they meet again, well the Commodores are on the outside looking in in terms of state playoff hopes, they are 1-6 in conference play, and short of winning out, they have no shot at making state.

The Indians though, at 4-3, are in second place in the standings, a game ahead of Pensacola. So perhaps a little more pressure on them as they get set for the trip south Wednesday.

"Tomorrow night will be a big game for us at Gulf Coast," Bret Campbell, Chipola Men's Basketball coach said. "Every Panhandle game is incredibly important. Night in, night out, Gulf Coast has had some struggles through the beginning of the conference, but they played everybody pretty close and certainly when you play Gulf Coast on their home floor it's going to be challenging."

That mens game set for 7:30, the ladies will tip it off at 5:30. On that side of things, Gulf Coast at 6-1 leads the conference, Northwest half a game back at 6-2.

Chipola's 2-5 looking up at the other two. Remember though, the Indians the team that gave the Lady Commodores their only conference loss to this point.
