PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG) -

Lynn haven residents living near 24th or 26th streets may see some construction in the near future.

Commissioners voted at Tuesday’s commission meeting to have engineers look at a feasibility study to connect 24th and 26th streets through the railroad track property in between them.

Commissioner Dan Russell brought up the issue as an effort to alleviate traffic on Highway 389 and help Mowatt Highlands residents. “We recently had a workshop about the Andrews Plantation too and one of the concerns was the traffic congestion on Highway 389 and this is an option for us to try to alleviate those concerns,” he said.

Russell said the feasibility study may begin in the next couple of weeks, but he’d like to see actual work begin in the next two to three months.
