PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG) - Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies say they arrested a Navarre man already on felony probation after they pulled him over Thursday night for an expired tag.

Deputies say during the stop the driver, Kevin McLaren, 35, tried to get his passenger to switch seats with him.

Deputies say McLean did not pull over for a deputy at first but eventually stopped on Cat Mar Road near Niceville. Deputies say he had to be removed from the car.

After the stop, deputies say they found out McLaren was driving with a suspended license.

A K9 alerted on McLaren’s car and deputies searched the car and found methamphetamine, fentanyl, and more.

McLaren was arrested and charged with fleeing and eluding from lights and siren, driving with a suspended license third or more offense, failure to register a motor vehicle, three counts of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, fentanyl, Suboxone), unlawful possession of someone else’s identification card, lack of insurance, possession of paraphernalia, and violation of felony probation.
