PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG) - Three people were seriously injured in a crash Friday morning in Bay County.

Panama City Police say around 10:05 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 231 and Highway 2301, a SUV was stopped at a red light. They say a truck going northbound on Highway 231 hit the stopped SUV at a high rate of speed.

Police say three people, including a minor, were taken to a local hospital with serious, incapacitating injuries. Police say due to the severity of the injuries, a preliminary Traffic Homicide Investigation was started. That investigation is ongoing and at this time no charges have been filed.

Both lanes of northbound Highway 231 were closed for some time due to the crash.
