LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -

UPDATE 04/07/21: We are now learning new details on a fire that tore through a home in Lynn Haven Tuesday night destroying it.

According to Lynn Haven Fire Chief John DeLonjay, several fire officials responded to the home on New York Avenue and West 12th Street at approximately 7:04 p.m.

He says one firefighter had minor injuries while assisting in putting out the fire, and we do know the family got out safely.

The cause of the fire is currently being ruled accidental, believed to be due to a faulty battery charger.

There is still an investigation underway alongside the state fire marshal.
