PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center in Panama City is expanding.

It is a project that started in October and is costing around $62 million.

We are told the expansion project is right on schedule for completion by the end of this year or the beginning of next. Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center COO Holley Dean tells us that’s if there is no interruption.

When the expansion project is completed, it will add about 100 local jobs.

“We have continued to grow here in Bay County and in our surrounding communities. And we need to be growing with it. Our plan right now is to add approximately 60 beds to our campus,” Dean said.

Dean says even though they are still in the middle of this project, the hospital is already looking to expand again to continue to meet the needs of the community
