This week’s winner of the 850 Strong Student of the Week Award is...

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -The winner of this week’s 850 Strong Student of the Week is Ashlyn Hoffman.

The Surfside Middle School seventh-grader enjoys being at school where she can socialize with her friends and attend classes that allow her to get a hands-on education.

Some of her favorite school activities include being involved in the spirit team and playing soccer.

Her favorite class is engineering because it allows her to get experience in multiple aspects of the field. Her least favorite part of school is homework. She says math is hard for her to comprehend but knows she must concentrate on doing better.

“I know I have to do homework but, then again, I just, like, really want to spend time with my family, but I feel like homework kind of takes away from that, but also you need to do homework so that you get good grades,” said Ashlyn.

Her teachers say she is kind toward others and is always helpful when working in groups.
