Roots fall to New Orleans 1-0 Thursday

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -The Florida Roots are still looking for that first win in the National Premier Soccer League.

The team unable to find the net Thursday against the New Orleans Jesters, losing the match at Tommy Oliver Stadium 1-0. That dropping the Roots to 0-4-1 now in its inaugural season in the NPSL.

The match was scoreless at intermission, though the Jesters dominated on the offensive end. Roots keeper Zach Moenter and his defenders turning away several good scoring opportunities. Then in the second half, the Jesters scored when Mauricio Rodriguez moved the ball around expertly in front of the goal, then lobbed a perfect chip across to teammate Mason Morise who scored with the perfect header, finding the right side of the goal.

The Roots now hit the road for a match Saturday at Port City, in Gulfport, Mississippi.
