PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Changes continue to come to Panama City Beach.

Construction began on segment three of the Front Beach Road CRA roundabout near South Arnold Road.

This 1.2-mile project will impact travel flow from the intersection of State Road 79 and Panama City Beach Parkway, as well as Front Beach East to Lullwater Drive.

Several businesses are already being impacted by the change of traffic.

However, one owner is fairly optimistic this change will be good for the area.

”We feel very good about it because you know obviously the checkout traffic at 10 and check-in traffic at four has been horrendous and you know it’s all the way from here to Back Beach Road and beyond,” said Harry Itameri, owner of Mi Cocina Latina. “So hopefully the roundabout will alleviate that and make it better. And I think for all of the businesses, it will have a very good impact, "

According to officials, the completed project will include the addition of trolley and bicycle lanes, sidewalks, landscaping, new roadways, lighting, and more.
