Investigators search for pilot who flew recklessly over thousands at Gulf Coast Jam
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Bay County Sheriff’s Office is on the hunt for a pilot who they say flew a small plane about 300 feet above thousands of people at Gulf Coast Jam.
They say the plane swooped past the festival three times Saturday night and dropped promotional items over the 32,000 attendees at Frank Brown Park. The incident prompted organizers to stop the concert and clear the stage.
The pilot has been identified as Robert Ryan Gore, 40, from Okaloosa County. A warrant for Gore’s arrest has been issued for reckless operation of an aircraft which is a felony.
Investigators say they believe Gore flew from the event and land his plane in Okaloosa County.
