COTTONDALE, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - One person is dead and two others are in serious condition after a crash on Interstate 10 Friday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol Troopers say the crash happened around Mile Marker 125, or Overpass Road Bridge.

Troopers spoke with a witness who tells them a semi started to change lanes into an SUV. They say the SUV tried to avoid being hit by the semi by going into the median. They say the driver of the SUV lost control in the wet grass and hit a bridge pillar of Overpass Road. The witness told troopers the semi kept going on I-10.

Troopers say a 75-year-old woman from Biloxi, Mississippi, was killed in the crash. She was a passenger in the vehicle. The driver, a 32-year-old man from Biloxi, and another passenger, a 56-year-old woman from Gulfport, were taken to a local hospital in serious condition.
