New shoreline exhibit at the Panama City Publishing Museum
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Visitors to the Panama City Publishing Museum can enjoy a new exhibit showcasing some natural history of the area.
The new exhibit documents the changes to the shoreline of the Panama City area since the 1700s. While Hurricane Michael drastically changed a large portion of the shoreline, it’s also changed more slowly over the last several hundred years. A number of maps and carvings are on display for visitors to see how it differs now compared to then.
“Well I think that’s very important,” said Lisa Barnes-Tapscott. “As we look to the future and what we need to do to keep the bays flushing correctly. We can look at what happened in the past and what we need to change in the future.”
The exhibit and museum are free to see.
