PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A Bay County jury has convicted Adam Keith Horne of multiple charges for holding an elderly woman at knife-point in Panama City Beach.

Horne, 36, was charged Wednesday with kidnapping, robbery with a deadly weapon, and grand theft motor vehicle.

The 80-year-old victim testified before the jury. She said that she offered Horne and his girlfriend, Rachel Price, a ride when they said their friends left them at Walmart.

The victim said that after the couple got into the car Horne pulled a knife on the victim and held it to her throat. She says she offered them the car, but they did not let her go. The victim was able to get away when she had to stop for gas.

According to authorities, the couple then stole another car and were eventually caught in that vehicle.

Other evidence presented to the jury included a recording of Horne speaking with law enforcement officers. In the recording, he admitted to holding the victim hostage. DNA evidence also linked Horned to the knife found in the victim’s car.

The jury deliberated for less than 20 minutes before finding Horne guilty. Sentencing is scheduled for July 1st.

Horne faces life in prison.

Horne’s girlfriend, Rachel Price, had previously been convicted at trial.
