DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Law Enforcement held a press conference in DeFuniak Springs Friday evening regarding a fatal shooting earlier this week.

Brian Laird was arrested on murder charges Friday morning by Geneva County Sheriff’s deputies in Alabama.

He’s suspected of being involved in the shooting that killed Kaylee Schipper. Police said he is her estranged father. They say he had been threatening Schipper for the past week, wanting to do her harm.

Police have also arrested Trevon Randolph, Laird’s nephew, on charges of principal to murder. They said he allegedly drove Laird to Schipper’s location knowing he intended to harm her.
