PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - One person drowned Tuesday in Panama City Beach near the Long Beach Resort; another is in the hospital.

Panama City Beach Police arrived at the scene around 3 p.m. and found a crowd of people by the edge of the water.

Panama City Beach Fire Rescue officials went into the water and pulled out a married couple. They said they began performing CPR on both of them.

The female victim, 37-year-old Amber Peardon, was taken to a local hospital where she later passed away.

Her husband, 32-year-old Coty Peardon, was taken to a different local hospital. His condition is unknown. They are both from Moss Point, Miss.
