19th annual Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic wraps up
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -The 19th annual Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic wrapped up final weigh-ins Saturday night at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort’s Baytowne Marina.
The first place blue was reeled in by angler, Cliff Mountain off of “High Cotton” out of Texas. This marlin came in at 681 pounds and 122 inches in length earning the crew $390,000.
The other blues pulled in did not come close to that size, but still worth a ton of money nonetheless. Angler, Josh Tice, off of “Devotion” out of Orange Beach, Alabama brought in a blue for second place weighing 472 pounds and winning the crew $185,000.
Some more excitement at the marina was a record breaking tuna. The previous record was 198.8 pounds, and the one brought in was 231 pounds bringing the winnings to $28,000.
