Joe Moody Harris Park clubhouse torn down Wednesday
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The clubhouse at Joe Moody Harris Park is now a pile of rubble. A Panama City Public Works team demolished the building Wednesday.
This comes just a few weeks after the closed park was vandalized with what many call racist graffiti. There were calls for the city to clean the park up.
Panama City is now accepting proposals from engineering and architecture firms to redesign the property.
Some of the plans include building a new clubhouse, revitalizing the park with a walking path, a disc golf course, a playground, updated irrigation, lighting, and landscaping.
The city will be accepting proposals until August 9th.
City staff will then review submitted proposals and make recommendations to the Panama City Commission.
