PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Happy Monday everyone!
It’s been a quiet, but steamy start to the day for Northwest Florida. Temperatures this morning sat in the upper 70s to low 80s. Today’s high temperatures are going to climb into the upper 80s and low 90s. The humidity is going to remain high this afternoon so the combination of heat and humidity will bring heat indexes in the triple digits this afternoon. Tonight’s temperatures will sit in the low to mid 70s across the area.
The day is starting off dry for the Panhandle, but during the afternoon scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop off the sea breeze. Heading into the evening, rain chances will bump up as a cold front, to the north, is going to send storms into the area tonight and overnight. We can expect to see periods of heavy rain and a few thunderstorms with this batch of storms.
