PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Happy Wednesday everyone!
Northwest Florida got a nice dose of rain today. Much of the Panhandle saw scattered showers and thunderstorms through much of the day. This evening, rain chances will remain low, however, a stray storm can’t be ruled out. Most of us will be under cloudy skies tonight. The weather will begin to dry up for tomorrow as high pressure builds in. This will limit storm coverage so we’ll see widely scattered storms, mainly along the coastline.
Today was another hot one! The mercury rose into the low to mid 90s, but heat indexes were in the 90s and 100s this afternoon. Tonight’s temperatures will sit in the low to mid 70s with feels like temperatures in the 80s overnight. Tomorrow is going to be even warmer than today! Highs will be in the low to mid 90s with heat indexes climbing to more than a 100-degrees. This has prompted a Heat Advisory for the Panhandle. Make sure to stay hydrated, wear comfy clothes, avoid too much time in the sun, and make sure your pets are staying cool too!
