PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Happy Thursday!

Today we aw a nice dose of sunshine, however, a few afternoon storms did pop up along the coastline. The activity quickly fizzled out after sunset. Tonight’s skies will remain mostly clear and Northwest Florida should remain dry. Tomorrow will be another mostly dry day with the chance of a couple of quick afternoon storms off the sea breeze front. We’re getting slightly drier conditions across the area for the next few days as high pressure builds in overhead.

The area of high pressure is also leading to temperatures soaring into the mid to upper 90s for tomorrow afternoon. The humidity will continue to be high so feels like temperatures are expected to be around 110 to 115 degrees. This heat has prompted an Excessive Heat Warning. Make sure to drink a lot of water, avoid spending time outdoors, if you must be outside take regular breaks in cool areas, and don’t forget to have a cool place and cold water for your pets!
