PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Good Thursday morning everyone!

It’s a quiet start on satellite and radar this morning with only a small chance for a light isolated shower. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds for eastbound travelers. Grab the shades and leave the umbrellas as today’s rain chance is hardly worthy, but not necessarily zero.

Otherwise, it’s another warm and humid start out the door with temperatures returning to the low to mid 70s. We’ll still have a warm and humid day ahead. Highs today top out in the upper 80s with feels like temperatures in the low 90s.

The frontal boundary which has kept us a bit unsettled so far this week has drifted a bit further to the south now. With that being the focal point for creating showers and thunderstorms, we’ll have to rely on daytime heating and a weak sea breeze to spark a few stray showers today. While we won’t be completely rain free across NWFL, your chance at running across the stray nature of today’s rain chance is fairly low around 30%.

The frontal boundary is developing a weak area of low pressure in the Northeastern Gulf. That will drift up into the Big Bend and Georgia by tomorrow, which in turn could enhance our afternoon sea breeze for a hit or miss storm on Friday.

Otherwise, high pressure builds in for the weekend with partly sunny skies and temperatures returning to the sizzling 90s. Feels like temperatures over the weekend will return to the triple digits in the afternoons.

Bottom Line...

For today, partly cloudy skies with only a 30% chance for a stray shower. Highs today top out in the upper 80s with feels like temperatures in the low 90s. Your 7 Day Forecast has a summery type hit or miss rain chance for Friday before we get hotter and drier over the weekend.
