Governor Desantis speaks on Ukraine
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - In a press conference at FSU Panama City Thursday, Governor Ron Desantis addressed the war in Ukraine.
Desantis said national security and the economy are both impacted by the Russian invasion. He added the price of gas is steadily rising due to the amount being sent from Russia to other countries, including the United States. The governor expects to see prices rise to four and five dollars per gallon.
Desantis also criticized President Biden’s foreign policy record.
“When Biden fumbled in Afghanistan, when you had 13 service members killed, when you left all that equipment behind, when you left a bunch of other Americans behind, the humiliation of that experience is something Russia was watching,” Desantis said.
The governor added, the war in Ukraine is a result of what he calls ‘weak’ leadership from the president.
